your design begins with a phone call
Your jewellery design process begins with a phone call. Here, we get an understanding of what type of jewellery you’re looking for whether it be wedding rings, engagement rings, men’s jewellery, or jewellery remodelling. We will advise you to bring any loose stones, gold or images that you would like to be a part of your bespoke jewellery piece. It’s time to start getting excited, the fun is only just beginning!
Your complimentary initial consultation
Your journey officially starts here, with your private consultation where we dive into your jewellery dreams. Our jewellery designers will guide you in selecting the right gemstone for your preferences and budget. This involves in-depth diamond education covering:
- The four c’s of diamonds
- Symmetry
- Polish
- Fluorescence
- Shape
- Provenance
Once we have determined your ideal diamond, we begin the design phase. Here, we use our in-house samples and any images you supply to design your new piece of jewellery.
The design phase
Next, our jewellery designers will begin noting your design preferences, as well specifications such as size and fit. Design specifications include:
- Width and depth
- Band profile
- Metal carat
- Finish
- Type of setting
- Claw style
- Shank style, setting and stone type
- Setting style and height
- Size and fit
- Engraving
We also determine the manufacturing process – handmade or handcrafted.
A handmade piece of jewellery means the jeweller makes every component of the jewellery including alloying, cold forging, cutting, piercing, pulling and setting without the use of manufacturing machinery.
Handcrafted jewellery is made using computer-assisted designs and 3D printing. The jeweller uses the 3D cast to create a mould, which molten gold or platinum is poured into, then assembled, polished and finished by the jeweller.

Once your design has been finalised, our qualified diamond grader will source the stones that most accurately fit your requirements. Selections are carefully inspected for lustre, overall make of the diamond, cut proportions, undertones, and surface area to carat weight ratio.
Once the loose diamond is selected and a quote is agreed upon, a 10% deposit is required to secure your piece. Depending on the manufacturing process chosen, you will receive either a hand-sketched design or a computer render with an option of two designs, as discussed in your consultation.
